Obesity Rates

In 2007-2008, the prevalence of obesity was significantly higher among Mexican-American adolescent boys (26.8%) than among non-Hispanic white adolescent boys (16.7%). In NHANES III (1988-1994) there was no significant difference in prevalence between Mexican-American and non-Hispanic white adolescent boys.

Breathing

By increasing the amount of oxygen you use during exercise, you will continue to burn calories after training. After exercise, your body consumes more oxygen in order to return to its pre-exercise state. This Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) causes a spike in your metabolism and can elevate your calorie burning for up to 48 hours.

Obesity Problem
Obesity is a very common problem in America. Currently, one in every three Americans suffers from obesity. A person with 20% higher than what his or her normal body weight should be is considered obese. This is measured in terms of body mass index or BMI. Anyone with a BMI of 30 and above is considered to be obese.
